Wonky Wednesday: Superbowl XLVII

Ok guys and dolls its that time of year again....FLU SEASON!!!

Nope just kidding lol it's Superbowl time!

Now before I go any further I am not a Ravens fan and I am not a 49's fan so I am way out of my element but I was hoping to convince the fiancé (ce for short) to write something up being a huge football addict and well that did not work out because he has been extremely busy with student teaching and has not had time to do a post so you are stuck with me :) lucky you!

So anyways here is my take on the Super Bowl. Unless the raiders miraculously make it into the Super Bowl or the steelers make it there again I really don't care about the actual game. My whole entire reason for watching the Super Bowl on years when my teams are not participating is the commercial entertainment.

Do I watch the game? Yes no matter what I do because that's what you do on Super Bowl Sunday if you watch football at all! Now I have been known to rewind a commercial and be behind. This caused a big problem in my house about 7 years ago when the steelers were in the Super Bowl and won. I was on my computer and watching the game. I apparently felt the need to rewind a commercial and never switched it back to live so we were about 4 minutes behind on the game. Next thing I know my news feed fills with things like "Steelers win Again!!!" and "Steel curtain triumphs" and in my confusion I read them to my roommate who needless to say incredibly unhappy that I not only FORCED her to watch the game and let me rewind the commercials I like (what can I say I loved the E-Trade baby that year) but I also forgot one of the times to hit live AND THEN RUINED THE OUTCOME BECAUSE OF FACEBOOK! Lol

I don't believe I was ever forgiven for that one.

So here are my questions for you.

Do you watch the Super Bowl?
Who do you want to win this year?
And are you like me and LOVE watching the commercials???? What has been your most favorite commercial of all time to run during the Super Bowl?

Tell me about it in the comments below!!!!

NEW!!!! Music Mondays!!

Hey all! It's Ashley here! I am a HUGE music lover! I sing anywhere and everywhere and I listen to music all day long. My favorite shows of the moment are shows like Glee, Nashville and Smash!

Glee is my new guilty pleasure. I had always heard about it and for whatever reason never watched it but I started recently and pulled up my Netflix account and I was lost in Glee for DAYS! I was up for hours on end just watching this amazing show with its amazing music! I found myself downloading all of the many Glee soundtracks and playing them in my car, in my office, at the gym and at work! I love how it is reintroducing me to some of my old favorite songs and I  love that I can seriously throw a Glee only playlist together on my Spotify and never hear the same song twice even if I am listening to the songs all day at work! \

The next one is another new obsession, Nashville! I love the story lines in the show but I am obsessed with the music from the show much more! My favorite song so far is Fade Into You. It was the song that "landed" the song writers in the show their contract with the music house. It was a beautiful song and even the fiance loves it. I seriously play the songs from the two song writers Charlotte and Gunner over and over. They are my favorites!

Smash was another great show I got hooked on because of the music. I have even gotten my fiance hooked on this one! He can be caught listening to the music in the shower mostly but let me tell ya he wants to be someone's star and I LOVE IT!!! LOL We went on a road trip last Memorial day weekend and took a good friend of ours with us and he was not as amused with our choice of Smash music and Britney Spears. Hey what can I say I like to sing and I like to sing just about everything!

So what do you listen to??? Where is your favorite place to listen to music? Do you sing in the car? the shower? Do you karaoke?? What is your favorite thing about the music you listen to?? Do you listen to the song or to the lyrics or both?

Yep I just asked you like 7 or 8 questions so you can answer them below in the comments! :)

Up To Me - M. Leighton

Book Two in the Bad Boy series, Up To Me is a book you won't be able to put down. More action (of all kinds -wink,wink), even MORE twists and turns, and the truth. Finally, the whole truth.

The Davenport family past has finally come back to haunt Cash and Nash... The enemies abduct Olivia's cousin Marissa, although their target was Olivia herself. Cash has to go visit his father in prison to figure out a plan. And boy, does he have one!

His plan is one that really throws Cash for a loop. He quickly has to decide if he should follow through with the plan or throw it out the window and go with his own idea. It all comes down to trust... Something that doesn't come easily to Cash, especially now.

Officially introduced in Book 2 is Gavin, Cash's best friend and right-hand at the club he owns. Gavin, who has a dark past of his own, helps Cash protect Olivia at all costs, and also helps Cash to realize his real feelings for Olivia... and helps Olivia realize the same thing!

Can they save Marissa? Can they manage to keep Olivia safe? Will Cash and Olivia admit their feelings for each other? YOU BETTER OPEN UP THE BOOK AND FIND OUT!

I give this book 5 stars. It's short and is a quick read BUT IT IS SMACK FULL of action and surprises, you'll be on the edge of your seats the whole time!
This book is very unpredictable, but in a good way. I can't say much else without serious spoilers, so I will just stop now. But I will say I cannot WAIT for book 3, and to see how the ever-evolving characters deal with the hands they've been dealt. I also can't wait to see more of Gavin in the coming books! He's become one of my favorites!

Down To You - M. Leighton

Down To You is the first in the Bad Boy series by M. Leighton. Did someone say bad boy? Ohhh yes, if you're into bad boys, this is a series for you! And if you're more into a refined guy... well there's one of those, too!

Olivia starts the book out in a fun way... shyly stripping the clothes off a gorgeous stripper at her friend's bachelorette party. Only she soon has one of the most embarrassing moments of her life. Quickly followed, the next morning, by yet another "most embarrassing moment" when she accuses her cousin's new boyfriend of being said stripper... Hello twins, Cash and Nash!!

Cash is the ultimate bad boy, and very much Olivia's type. Rough around the edges, with that bad boy charm. Attached to Olivia's cousin is Nash, an intern with a law degree, who can't seem to control himself around Olivia. The only thing they seem to have in common, aside from their godly good looks, is their troubled past due to family issues. Will either twin open up to her? Will either tell her the truth?

Then there are the ultimate questions... What do you do when identical twins want you? When one is obviously your type but the other is more of what you think you NEED? How do you choose? Get to reading to find out how Olivia decides!!!

I give this book 4 stars! I would've given it 5 if it had only been longer. I needed MORE. I absolutely adore Olivia's friends, including those back in her home town. I quickly fell for Cash, but could see why Olivia was confused and wanted Nash as well.
The book is well written with enough twists and turns to keep you guessing. It is definitely not just another predictable romance, and for that I am grateful!!

And come back tomorrow for Part Two of the series "Up To Me"

Wonky Wednesday: iPad Mini Review

iPad mini: Every Inch an iPad...

This is the catchphrase for this fabulous piece of electronic heaven. I searched high and low from the time I heard the rumor of a smaller iPad in June or July and I was all over the place looking for all of the latest information that was being released online. By the time the day came for Apple to announce their newest products I was so thirsty for this product I couldn't stand it. You see, I have an iPhone and have had one for quite some time. I have had just about every one of them from the original and very first to the current 5 that I am using right now. The only one I did not get was the 4S because I had the 4 and didn't see Siri as a reason to get a whole new phone. I didn't see any big changes in the phone from the 4 to the 4S so I decided to save my upgrade for the 5.

What does all of this have to do with an iPad?? Well my fiance and family and friends all thought I was one of those crazy Apple people that had to have the newest gadget no matter what the cost but yet I kept putting off buying an iPad. Honestly I loved the iPad and really wanted to get one but I hated the size of it, hence the large amount of excitement about the mini!

After the big reveal I told my fiance' that the ONLY thing I wanted for Christmas was an iPad mini and that is exactly what I got! I even got a better one than I originally hoped for because I may be marrying the worst procrastinator that there ever was. On the Friday before Christmas, I got the most frantic call ever from him saying that he had waited too long and now I wouldn't be getting my iPad for Christmas. Well after a couple of phone calls by me (must we women do everything?) I was able to find 4 but they were all the 32GB versions and would be a bit more money. He went and got it and all was good and now I can write this fabulous review.

It's awesome. I love it. I am so glad I waited!

I can't do a big comparison between the iPads because I have not had one before but I will give you a few things I like about this one that I know i wouldn't like about the others.

First off the size. Seriously I have small hands and typing on the mini can be hard enough but there is no way I would have been able to use the regular sized iPad comfortably. it's perfect and while we did have and are still having problems finding the "perfect" case for it I am happy with the size and the case I have currently.

Second thing I love is probably nothing to anyone that has had any previous versions of the iPad but I love that my iMessages go to my iPad too. There have been a few instances where I have been texting and on my iPad and it really made things very easy for me to continue my conversation and still continue blogging or wedding planning without having to have 2 devices in my hand.

The next thing I love about this new device is the ability to really have control over my documents and with apps like Calender, Reminders, Mail, Dropbox and DocumentsToGo. When wedding planning, it is so hard to keep things straight and with those few apps I am killing this wedding planning business. :)

So now I want to know from all of you! Because I have not been a previous iPad user I am still really green on this whole system so I would love it if I could get a couple of recommendations for some great apps that have made your life easier!

TV Tuesdays: The Big Bang Theory

So today is going to be all about one of my favorite shows. THE BIG BANG THEORY!!! After a friend posted on her Facebook that she didn't understand why people thought it was a funny show I was in shock. I could not understand how anyone could not like TBBT!

Then came the replies. Some were similar to me saying it was hilarious and citing certain episodes and moments that made them laugh and then there were others that just could not, like my friend, understand what all the fuss is about. Those people are ones I don't understand lol.

My fiancé and I have the first 4 seasons on DVD and yet we still have around 103 episodes saved on our DVR box in our living room. During the summer when most of our shows are on hiatus we play TBBT Roulette! One of us pulls up TBBT on the screen and hits either page down or the down button while our eyes are closed. When we are done with our "selection" we push play and watch whatever episode happens to be on the screen :) I know it's dorky and I know that it's strange but we like to just watch them together and laugh!

So about the Big Bang Theory. Here is the Wikipedia page summary of the show:

The Big Bang Theory is an American sitcom created by Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady, both of whom serve as executive producers on the show, along with Steven Molaro. All three also serve as head writers. It premiered on CBS on September 24, 2007.[5]
The show is centered on five characters: roommates Leonard Hofstadter and Sheldon Cooper, two physicists employed at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech); Penny, a waitress and aspiring actress who lives across the hall; and Leonard and Sheldon's equally geeky and socially awkward friends and co-workers, aerospace engineer Howard Wolowitz and astrophysicist Rajesh Koothrappali. The geekiness and intellect of the four guys is contrasted for comic effect with Penny's social skills and common sense.[6][7] Over time, supporting characters have been promoted to starring roles: Leslie Winkle, a physicist colleague at Caltech and, at different times, a lover of both Leonard and Howard; Bernadette Rostenkowski, Howard's fiancée (later his wife), a microbiologist and former part-time waitress alongside Penny; Stuart Bloom, the cash-strapped owner of the comic book store the characters often visit, and neuroscientist Amy Farrah Fowler, who joins the group after surreptitiously being matched to Sheldon on a dating website.

So there ya go :)  The characters are my favorite part of the show!

I just copied what I found about the main characters on Wikipedia.org so check it out if you want :)

  • Johnny Galecki[34] as Leonard Hofstadter, Ph.D. – An experimental physicist with an IQ of 173. He received his Ph.D. when he was 24 years old. He is originally from New Jersey. The straight man of the series, he shares an apartment with colleague and friend Sheldon Cooper. The writers immediately implied potential romance between him and neighbor Penny, and their sexual tension is frequently explored including occasional dating. In Season 3, Leonard begins an on-again, off-again romantic relationship with Penny, although the two continue to live separately.

  • Jim Parsons as Sheldon Cooper, B.S., M.S., M.A., Ph.D., Sc.D.[36] – Originally from East Texas, he was a child prodigy with an eidetic memory who began college at the age of 11 (after completing the fifth grade), started graduate studies at 14, and earned a Ph.D. at 16. A theoretical physicist focusing on quantum mechanics and string theory, he has a master's degree, two Ph.D.s, an Sc.D., and an IQ of 187. He exhibits a strict adherence to routine; a lack of understanding of irony and sarcasm; he is also uninterested in many of the romantic hijinks of his friends. Sheldon shares an apartment with Leonard Hofstadter, across the hall from Penny, and relies on both for advice in social situations. Sheldon is very egotistical, and he often brags about his smarts, although he lacks social skills. Sheldon relies on his friends to drive him around, and he eventually tries to go for his driver's license but is unable to complete the task. In the fourth season, he begins a relationship with Amy Farrah Fowler, who becomes his first girlfriend during the fifth season, even though he is wary of germs and physical contact. He is a very introverted character. He is also famous for knocking on a door before saying the name of whom he's addressing, repeating this three times.

  • Kaley Cuoco as Penny – From a small town outside of Omaha, Nebraska, a blonde who lives across the hall from Sheldon and Leonard. She is pursuing a career in acting, and has been on casting calls and auditions but has not been very successful thus far. To pay the bills, she is a waitress and occasional bartender at The Cheesecake Factory. To date, her last name has not been revealed. She dated Leonard at the end of the first season, and during the third, fifth, and sixth seasons. By season four, Bernadette, Amy and Penny have formed their own group, who like to hang out in Penny's apartment or go out together.

  • Simon Helberg as Howard Wolowitz, M.Eng. – He works as an aerospace engineer. He is Jewish, and lives with his mother. Unlike Sheldon, Leonard, and Raj, Howard lacks a Ph.D. He defends this by pointing out that he has a master's degree in engineering from MIT and that the apparatus he designs are launched into space, unlike the purely abstract work of his friends. He fancies himself a ladies' man and devises outrageous pick-up lines, with suitably unimpressed reactions from Penny and limited success with other women. He claims to be a polyglot. He dates and later marries Bernadette Rostenkowski. In the fifth season, he trained as an astronaut, and blasted off into space in the season finale to serve as a payload specialist on the International Space Station.

  • Kunal Nayyar as Rajesh Koothrappali, Ph.D. – Originally from New Delhi, India, he works as a particle astrophysicist at Caltech. His family is very wealthy. He communicates with his parents, Dr. and Mrs. V.M. Koothrappali, via webcam. He is very shy around women and is physically unable to talk to them unless he drinks alcohol, or at least thinks he has been drinking alcohol, or has taken experimental medications provided by the pharmacology department at the university. However, he has often had better luck with women than his overly-confident best friend Howard. He has very feminine tastes and often takes on a stereotypical female role in his close friendship with Howard, but he insists that he is not gay. During the fourth season, his sister Priya (Aarti Mann) stays with him and becomes Leonard's girlfriend.

So there are the main characters as listed on wikipedia.org :)

Here are my Top 5 BBT Moments/Episodes. I am not going to tell you about the entire episode just a part that really sticks out to me :)

  1. The Bath Gift Hypothosis - When Sheldon hugs Penny!
  2. The Lumonious Fish - When Sheldon buys and uses a Loom!
  3. The Bad Fish Paradigm - The famous "Shhhh, I'm batman" episode
  4. The Euclid Alternative - Sheldon learns to drive. My favorite moment is "Airbag"
  5. The Adhesive Duck Deficiency - Sheldon has to help Penny when she slips and falls in the shower. My favorite moment "Then let it go"

Now I know I didn't give you a whole lot of information on those episodes but that's because YOU have to watch them yourself!!!

Let me know in the comments what you think of the show and what you thought of those 5 moments/episodes!!

Monday's Manifest: Top 7 Apple Apps

Hey all I am obsessed with my newest toy! I got an iPad mini for Christmas and now I want to give you guys a preview of my Wonky Wednesday post :)

Here are my top 7 favorite Apple Apps!

1. DropBox - This is my favorite app. I love that I can access things for work, home, play, and the wedding all in one place and on any computer with internet access! I even upgraded my account to give me 100GB worth of space and I am well on my way to having to add more space within the next year! It's awesome to be able to put anything in there and not have it take up all of the space on my phone, iPad or computer!

2. Blogger - This app is coming in handy on my iPad. Now no matter where I am I can start up and write blog posts. I have had more drafts drawn up on this blog in the past month (that means you have a lot to look forward to!) than I think I have ever had in the history of this entire sites existence! I will let my fellow bloggers know that I have not yet mastered the link adding and HTML for the site yet but I am working on learning how to do that :)

3. Facebook/Facebook Page Manager - This is a great app to have for any blogger or just any facebook user. I love that I can share things on the go no matter where I am! It keeps me connected with all of you and with all of my friends near and far!

4. Find My iPhone - This may have been the most hilarious app to have especially since my fiance and I have the same iTunes account and I didn't realize I could randomly lock him out of his phone lol It was hilarious for me but not so much for him :)

5.  Pinterest - I love being able to add things to my pin boards on the go! I love grabbing my inspirations and making them reality when I am shopping and when I am cooking!

6. Kindle/iBooks - I can read no matter where I am and I love love love that I can shop for a book on the go and on trips. It's really going to come in handy in a couple of weeks when I am stuck on a plane for hours going to a wedding and having to kill time in the airport and everywhere else :)

7. Spotify - This is last on my list but certainly not least!!! I love love love me some Spotify! I use this all the time at the gym and at home! For a measly $9.99 a month I get full access to all the music that Spotify has to offer!!! I definitely recommend it to anyone who is working out or anyone that can access this program on a computer at home or at work :)

So there are my top 7 which are yours?????

Wild About You - Kerrelyn Sparks

Wild About You is the 13th book in the Love At Stake series by Kerrelyn Sparks... And could possibly be my favorite!

Focusing on Howard Barr, the head of security at Dragon Nest Academy (and personal security for the Draganesti family), Wild About You is a book you will not be able to put down! There is a lot of action, a lot of romance, and... well... a lot of hanky panky!!!

Howard Barr is a were-bear who ironically LOVES bear claws... a fact that is mentioned a LOT in the series and especially in this book. Originally from Alaska, Howard has quite a past that nobody seems to have a clue about.

Howard hasn't been entirely open about his hate for Rhett Bleddyn, or their shared history. Bears are generally loners, and that's one reason Howard hasn't shared his past... Not to mention the pain that just thinking about it causes him. However, when he goes missing (or rather, just stays longer on his "vacation" and stops returning calls) he is forced to come clean about his plan for revenge... And why.

While Howard is gone, Shanna Draganesti devises a plan to do some match making after her son Tino spills the beans about who Howard's celebrity-crush is! Elsa, a star in a home remodeling show, is a tall, beautiful, perfect match for the huge bear of a man that Shanna and her family depend on daily for protection. Elsa has a history of her own, with a curse that sounds eerily similar to the family curse Howard's family believes.

Can Shanna help convince her that Howard can be trusted, despite her aunts' insistence that he's a danger to her? Can Howard do any convincing of his own? Will his revenge against the Bleddyn family get in the way of him pursuing his dream woman? You'll have to read the book to find out!

I give this book 5 stars!! I have loved Howard from the start and I am extremely happy with the path Sparks has chosen for him. Wild About You also gives a wonderful peek into the lives of ALL of our favorite characters from the series, which is much appreciated. The new characters introduced in the book (including Howard's family and Elsa's aunts and coworkers) are hilarious and entertaining. And seeing the other side of the were-bear is touching and unexpected. This book is a HUGE win for the series, and has kept me hooked!
